![]() That being said, I was absolutely blown away by the 1943 DOU K98 I received. Ok, so I will freely admit that I expected the worst buying a K98 sight unseen from RTI without paying a hand-select fee. But it looks like I got a wall hanger and not a shooter. Mostly note matching numbers although I like that it's a 1944 reciever and the stock is nice condition for the age. For $1000, was hoping for a gun capable of stabilizing a projectile with better than smooth bore accuracy. Last 3 or 4 inches of bore have almost no rifling. I would say it's on the lower end of good condition which is within what's in the description. ![]() It's non matching and the stock will need some work before it's shootable but all considering I'm fine with it. The bore is not wonderful but very serviceable. I received a beautiful rifle with quite a bit of finish left. These were covered by many layers of grease and dirt, and it seems to drag against the locking lugs on the bolt head. But, located in the action there are several deep gouges along the path of travel for the bolt., as if someone took a hammer and a chisel to it. Top of the receiver is very beat up and worn, but I think it's marked CE 43. The stock was in very good shape, it cleaned up well.
